The Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of gasoline and diesel powered small engines and machines powered by small engines.
The Service Technician will be responsible for processing machines accepted for recycling and preparing used parts for sale.
The Service Technician will work on a variety of machines, including but not limited to: ATV, ATC, SxS, snowmachine, motorcycle, dirt bike, lawn tractor, go-kart, scooter, small outboard, snowblower, push lawnmower, generator, dredge engine, pressure washer, and chainsaw.
Test and inspect engines to verify quality of repairs
Process Shop-Owned Units
Assess repairs needed to reach salable condition
Prepare used parts for sale – assess quality, identify, enter in computer, tag, weigh, and photograph
Drain fluids and prepare units for recycling
Organization & Cleaning
Maintain organization and cleanliness in shop and parts warehouse
Maintain shop tools and equipment
Keep stock of consumable shop supplies
Greet clients and explain diagnostics and repairs
Assist clients load and unload machines

Qualification & Skills
3 years experience with ATV or other small engine diagnostics and repair
Diagnostics skills – able to systematically identify a problem and its causes and effects
Extensive and in-depth small engine repair skills
Familiar with a variety of mechanical tools & their proper use
Familiar with a variety of types of small engines
Ability to identify parts and part numbers from schematics
Basic customer service skills
Willing to learn
Honest, respectful, approachable, & dependable
Time management skills – must be able to prioritize to work efficiently
Communicative – will keep office updated on status of units
Able to lift heavy loads up to 70lbs
Basic welding – arc and/or MIG
Willingness to be flexible with hours
Class D drivers license
Familiar with Ubuntu
Wage & Hours:
This is a part time job, beginning with 10 hours per week at $12/hour. During the first months, the technician will receive training as needed. After four months, the wage will increase to $15/hour, reflecting an increased ability, efficiency, & independence.
